Rev 1:1  The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him [Jesus Christ], to shew unto his [Jesus Christ's] servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he [Jesus Christ] sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:

Rev 1:2 [John] Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he [John] saw.

Rev 1:3  Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

Rev 1:4  John to the seven [ 7 ] churches [ congregations ] which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him [God] which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven [ 7 ] Spirits which are before his [God's] throne;

Rev 1:5  And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten [firstborn] of the dead, and the prince [ruler] of the kings of the earth.  Unto him [Jesus Christ] that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

Rev 1:6  And [from Jesus Christ, who] hath made us kings and priests unto [to serve his] God and his Father; to him [Jesus Christ] be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Rev 1:7  Behold [Look], he [Jesus Christ] cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also [even those] which pierced him: and all kindreds [peoples] of the earth shall wail [mourn] because of him [Jesus Christ].  Even so, Amen.

Rev 1:8  I [God] am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

Rev 1:9  I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of [patient endurance that are ours in] Jesus Christ, was in [exiled to] the isle that is called Patmos, for [because of] the word of God, and for [because of] the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Rev 1:10  I [John] was in the Spirit on the Lord's day [in the Spirit, seeing visions, of a future time period: the great day of the Lord], and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, [see Rev 4:1 ]

Rev 1:11  Saying, I [God] am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou [John] seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven [ 7 ] churches [ congregations ] which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

Rev 1:12  And I turned to see the voice [of God] that spake with me.  And being turned, I saw seven [ 7 ] golden candlesticks [ 7 churches [ congregations ] ];

Rev 1:13  And in the midst of the seven [ 7 ] candlesticks [ 7 churches [ congregations ] ] one like unto the Son of man [Jesus Christ], clothed with a garment [robe] down to the foot, and girt about the paps [chest] with a golden girdle [sash].

Rev 1:14  His [Jesus Christ's] head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire [see Rev 19:12 ];

Rev 1:15  And his [Jesus Christ's] feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned [glowed] in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many [rushing] waters.

Rev 1:16  And he [Jesus Christ] had in his right hand seven [ 7 ] stars [ the angels of the 7 churches [ congregations ] ]: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword [ the word of God (from the Bible), the sword of the Lord (see Rev 19:15)]: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.

Rev 1:17  And when I [John] saw him [Jesus Christ], I fell at his feet as dead.  And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:

Rev 1:18  I [Jesus Christ] am he that liveth [2,000 years ago], and was dead [crucified]; and, behold, I am alive [resurrected] for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

Rev 1:19  Write the things which thou [John] hast seen, and the things which are [now], and the things which shall be hereafter [will take place later];

Rev 1:20  The mystery of the seven [ 7 ] stars which thou [John] sawest in my [Jesus Christ's] right hand, and the seven [ 7 ] golden candlesticks.  The seven [ 7 ] stars are the angels of the seven [ 7 ] churches [ congregations ]: and the seven [ 7 ] candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven [ 7 ] churches [ congregations ].   ^
