The Cumulative Cost
of USA Storms, Wildfires, etc.

Abstract
The cost of "severe
weather events" (costing $1 billion or more each) has been compounding
at a rate of 11.70% per year over the last 32 years.
If this trend continues for
another 18 years, by 2030 these "severe weather events" will account
for 2% of the GDP, and a total of $5 trillion dollars
will have been added to the USA national debt.

Introduction
As the USA legalizes
more and more activities, that God's word in the Bible describe as sin,
then as a nation, we can no longer look to God to protect our nation
from our enemies, from severe weather, and from the consequences
of the absence of God's blessings.
President George Washington,
in his inaugural address to the new nation (the United States), issued
this warning to all Americans: "... we ought to be no less persuaded
that the propitious [favorable] smiles of Heaven, can never
be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal
[God's] rules of order and right, which Heaven
itself has ordained [by God in the Bible]:"
(However, it is important
to note that as individuals, seeking and following God's word as
members of Christ's congregation (born again believers, the
body of Christ), we can pray for God's protection, and believe
He is answering our prayers.)
Analysis
The dramatic increase of
severe weather in the USA during recent decades, underscores this waning
of God's protection for our nation from these events.
"Severe weather events"
include hurricanes, tornados, windstorms, hailstorms, floods, droughts,
wildfires, earthquakes, volcano activity, etc.
To quantify "severe" weather,
we will assume the cumulate cost to the American economy of a "severe"
weather event is over $1 billion dollars each.
Since current insurance rates
are based on events that typically cost less than $1 billion dollars, or
that only occur once every 100 years or more (100-year storms), most of
the increased cost of these billion dollar "severe weather events"
is finding it's way to the USA's national debt.
If we begin with 1980
and accumulate the costs of these events through 2012, we have a
current total of about $714 billion.
A very interesting observation
is that the best "least squares" fit curve (to data points
created when $5 billion and up storms are added), is a growth rate
of 11.70% per year, which has been compounding over the last
32 years.
If this trend continues for
another 18 years, by 2030 "severe weather events" will account for
2% of the GDP*, and a total of $5 trillion dollars
will have been added to the USA national debt.
*Assumes a GDP compounding
at a 3.0% annual rate.
The best alternative
to all these events (and a far less expensive alternative,) is a return
to God's protection for our nation, by only legalizing activities that
are consistent with God's word in the Bible.
In 2Ch
7:14 God states it this way: "If my people, which are called
by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek
my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I [God]
hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and
will heal their land."
Conclusion
As a Christian nation,
founded and based on God's word in the Bible, we, the citizens of
the USA, and our leaders, routinely prayed to God for protection
from our enemies, severe weather, and for God's blessings.
However, God also
defines sin in the Bible's Old Covenant (aka the Law, or
the Law of Moses).
Therefore, many have chosen
to pursue freedom from God's definition of sin in the Bible.
Man's idea of "freedom from sin," is implemented by legalizing sinful
behavior and sinful activities described in the Bible.
However, to totally achieve
this goal of "freedom from sin," you would have to do more than just removing
the Bible from schools. Ultimately, the antichrist
will try to destroy Israel, Christ's congregation, and the Bible.
Rev
12:17 states: "And the dragon [Satan] was wroth with the woman [Israel],
and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep
the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ."
However, always remember
that as individuals, seeking and following God's word as members
of Christ's congregation (born again believers, the body of Christ),
we can pray for God's protection, and believe He is answering
our prayers.
